My art is deeply grounded in Christian spirituality while my artistic style has been influenced by the Russian Impressionists who live in Idaho. I love to paint figurative and wildlife subjects in a natural landscape as well as more spiritually imaginative narrative works. Through these genres I hope to draw my viewers into an intimate participation of God's love and grace as it gifts us in the beauty of the created world.

Mary Ann Cherry is the 2006 Southeast Regional winner in the Idaho Paints Idaho statewide competition. She paints all subject matter but concentrates an wildlife and animals. Mary Ann is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America as well as co-founder of the Pastel Society of the Northern Rockies. She accepts portraiture commissions of people and pets.   

I am a fantasy artist, and a poet. I have recently written a children's book which I am trying to get published. I enjoy doing my art more than anything, and hope others find my art and poems to their liking.

I work expressively to try to capture the emotions one experiences when enjoying creation and all it's beauty.

I am drawn to places with layers of visible history. I assemble my work from a variety of sources, these layers give my work its own history. I paint self-portraits. I love what is used and then forgotten. My images are fragmented. I reassemble parts and create images that are both solid and transparent. This is much like the reconstruction of a memory. I love Richard Diebenkorn. I read Douglas Coupland. I want to go to Europe. I wander the alleys. I love long drives. I am afraid of the depth of outer space. I want to save the forests. Raised in Montana, I have grown to have a great appreciation for the colors the land has to offer. And I have taken them.

Art should not only be an expression of the artist but also an extension of the admirer, i enjoy doing work from photographs that have meaning and a vision for the individual commissioning art work.

I am an artist, and I paint in impressionistic and realistic styles. My work is done in oil. I use very intense colors in my paintings. It's a reflection of my personality and perception of the world around me.

I am a professional artist specializing in still lifes and portraits, working mainly in oils, conte' and charcoal. I am primarily a realist but my current goal is to push the envelope of reality using exaggerated light and color to bring out the essence of the subject as much as possible.
