Art has always been an interest in my younger years with
classes while living in Utah, but my love for interior decorating and high timber living has truly inspired my passion for
watercolor. I am currently specializing in cabins in the snow, weekend ski getaways, sleigh rides and my studio is
passionate with inspiration and desire with many new subjects. Consignments considered and Giclee prints available! |

Paintings inspired by Idaho’s wild places. Oil using a palette knife, watercolor with ink, and pastels created from
sketches done on location. Presently exhibiting at the Maryhill Museum of Art for the exhibition, Sustaining Agriculture
in America. My mentor is Idaho portrait painter John Collias, who helped me refine my techniques since l985. |

Primarily a landscape painter, I also enjoy
still life and painting farm animals. As a landscape painter, painting
on location has been a strong focus for many years. Founder of the Snake
River Plein Air Painters in 1998, being part of this small group of
professional artists continues to be lots of fun. I am a prolific
painter and have two studios filled with a broad variety of oil
paintings. Visitors are welcome to come browse old favorites as well as
new work or work-in-process. |

My work takes many different forms, but the
underlying content, is often the same. For me this is what creativity is
all about, form arises from the dictates of inspiration. Content is the
essence of art, and form is a vehicle to serve expression. To serve that
expression, form must bend to the ever changing demands of creativity. |

Painting landscapes, still life, Native Americans, and especially
portraits, is my passion. I started drawing before kindergarten with the guidance of my Father. Ever since, making
pictures has been at the core of my existence. It's always thrilling to experience the moment a painting takes a life of
its own. One instant there is an amalgamation of marks on a surface and with the addition of a single stroke it is
transformed. |

Primarily, I paint landscapes, waterfowl, still-lifes and
abstracts in oil and acrylics. I wish I had an elaborate statement of my philosophy and what moves me. All I can say is
that if a subject, no matter the genre’, has those magical elements of color and mood that capture my interest then I feel
that very familiar urge to transfer it to canvas. If I’m lucky I capture the feeling or the moment. If not then the canvas
sits in the studio until I can figure out why. |
