Photography captivated me in my
early teens, and I went from high school yearbook photographer
to the photography certificate program at Spokane Falls
Community College. Life had other plans for me, which was
raising two wonderful boys, but I never stopped studying light
and composing photographs in my mind. With encouragement from my
boys, who have become outstanding young men, and the advent of
digital I have re-embraced my passion for photography and I have
been pursuing it full time since 2006.
The images that I am proudest of transport the viewer to a place
of tranquility and beauty and can have a therapeutic effect on
the soul. Atmospheric conditions and waterscapes are the
environments in which I can best produce the message I am trying
to convey . I do think fog is beautiful and it is certainly the
images that convey emotion, that I get the most satisfaction
from. I consistently find that my best images are produced in
solitude, when I wander alone on a winter morning, or rise
before the sun while camped beside a scenic lake. These are the
images I feel personally connected to, and hope they evoke
emotion in others.
